Digital One | | 2007-06-22 15:13:04 | | | Digital One | Digital One first started his interest in music when he started to learn to play the guitar at around the age of 7. By the age of 14 he started to notice that there was more than rock guitar based music as he discovered Hip hop and house music. Although Digital One was involved in helping to run dance events it wasn't until 1995 that he started to write his own music.
With what he had built up from the different music genres that he had been listening to Digital one found it difficult to decide on one genre of music. Eventually he found a select few styles that he wanted to concentrate on. It was the sound of down beat hip hop that attracted him the most with influences like 'The Herbilizer, Money Mark Attica Blues and Howie B helped him to carve out his sound.
The first piece of music that made it out of the Digital One stable was used on a satellite television on a program called the 'Chilli Factor,' a succession of his music was then being used on extreme sport videos and television programs. Digital ones first release was on Different Drummer a Hip-hop compilation of midlands based artists called 'Lyric Super Brand.' This was privileged spot for Digital one as other artists that have achieved fame like 'The Streets' did not make it on to the album As technology moved forward at an astonishing rate Digital one concentrated his efforts on improving his production techniques and being able to take advantage of new technologies.
By the time of the next release which was now on 'Softly Records' Digital One had improved dramatically and had people like Quantic playing along side him on the track. Digital One has now started to DJ and has been on the same line up as people like Author Baker and Soul Wax. He has also worked with people like Masseo from De La Soul. | | 2007-06-18 21:02:31 | | BLOG ARCHIVE
